Boys U-14 Football
On Tuesday night, Magherafelt played their second league game of the season at home to Bellaghy and ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 5-10 to 1-3. With a number of players missing for various reasons, the Rossas were forced to reshuffle their forward line, which resulted in Michael Lynch, who played at midfield in the Glen game being placed on the edge of the square, from where he scored a personal tally of 4-7. However, despite an excellent performance from Lynch, this was anything but a one-man show, as every player on the team played their part with Michael McEvoy and David McErlain excelling in the half back line. Andy Walker and Calvin Smyth worked their socks off in midfield and every forward caused the Bellaghy defence all sorts of problems throughout. Aaron Cassidy scored Magherafelt’s 5th goal and 2 points from Connleth McElhone and one from Jac Lloyd Evans completed the scoring . Next up for the Rossa lads is an away trip to Faughanvale on Tuesday 24th May.
