U10s win Clan Na Gael Tournament

Rossa u10 lifted their second cup of the season on Sunday 29th July when they won the Clan Na Gael Tournament. Featuring 16 teams from throughout the province, our boys recorded wins against Sarsfields, Clann Eireann and St Peters in the group stage. The game against Clann Eireann was particularly hard fought with our bacon being saved with a great save by our keeper. The quarter final against Derrylaughlin proved harder than the semi against Enniskillen but even after 5 games the lads were raring to go in the final – and they needed to be. A fierce encounter against the home side saw the game swing to and fro with neither side prepared to give way. Through some solid work at the back and midfield our forwards started to get on top in the second half and we finished with a few points to spare. All credit was due to the home side and to the organisers for a superbly organised day. Once again our boys behaved impeccably and were a credit to parents, coaches and O’Donovan Rossa
