O’Donovan Rossa Participate in ‘Mum & Me’ Camogie Programme

March 29th, 2014 | Camogie, Club News

We are participating in the Camogie Association’s ‘Mum & Me’ programme, starting on Monday 31st March at Meadowbank Sports Arena (31st March) in Meadowbank Sports Arena at 7-8pm.

The ‘Mum & Me’ Camogie Programme is a programme where Mums and Dads learn the basic skills of Camogie and coaching while their daughters learn the skills of Camogie in a fun & safe environment.

We would ask as many parents of U6 and U8 players, as well as new U10 players, as possible to take part in this brilliant programme, regardless of prior experience or sporting prowess! This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of the game and get involved. It will be delivered by Lisa McAliskey, Regional Development Officer with the Camogie Association.

‘Mum & Me’ Content:

The programme is comprised of a weekly session over 3 weeks where new camogie skills will be taught each week.  For the first 10 minutes of the session the Mums/Dads and daughters will begin with warm-up activities.  The rest of session will involve the Mums/Dads and daughters combining, with the Mums teaching the daughters the new skills  they have learned that night.

This will run for 3 weeks and is open to both mums and dads!

Contact Sara Gribben, Fiona Doyle or any of the coaches if you have any questions.
If you are intending to participate, please inform Sara Gribben to allow us to have an idea of numbers for this event.
